2023 – Jim Cossey, President, and Bill Graham, Race Director, of the Bridgton, Maine’s 4 on the Fourth Road Race initiated a plan for a privately funded mural to be painted on the west side of the Food City Building in Pondicherry Square. The mural design would reflect the road race, the town of Bridgton & the state of Maine.
Local artist, Kate Erwin, was chosen as the mural designer for the project. She had also designed the mural on the side of the Bridgton Books building. Painting of the mural commenced during the very rainy summer of 2023 with a plan to be completed by June 15.
All runners, residents, volunteers were invited to participate by painting Kate’s design. They made it happen and it’s spectacular! Take a drive by! Enjoy photos & time lapse video below.
