RACE

It’s been three weeks since this year’s race. As we set records in total runners registered and total runners finishing, we also got a good look at managing a 10% larger field of runners. With our 50 th coming in a year, we are already looking at better ways to operate and improve this event for that milestone. I’ll send out updates on that later this year. Thank you all for your support!
In looking at 2025, thanks to a record number of sponsors, we will deliver more money than ever to our community non-profits, leading with the Bridgton Public Library. Those checks will be delivered starting in mid August. We had two spectacular first time overall winners in Caroline Livingston and Sam Laverdiere, and hundreds of individual PB’s on what is clearly a memorable race to run passing through the town, the farms, the “hills”, and the lakes that make Bridgton and the Lake Region so special. We had a first time camp winner in the boys camp competition in Camp Wildwood on Woods Pond, ten minutes from the starting line. We had a repeat winner in the girl’s camp competition in Camp Tapawingo, 25 minutes from the starting line on Keyes Pond in Sweden. And first time boys Camp Birch Rock finished in the top 5. Registration for 2026 will open as always at midnight Jan 14 (that’s 0000 Jan 15), and there will be more to come in the months to come on plans for this milestone.
In the meantime, its still summer. Let’s enjoy! Bill Graham, Race Director
